We are a group of volunteers who are dedicated to the health and safety of the citizens of Dauphin Island and its visitors. We are an independent government corporation receiving our fund from donations, the Town of Dauphin Island and a monthly fee paid on the water bill. Our membership is made up of engineers, accountants, teachers and students and range in age from 18 to 65 years old. The services we provide include fire suppression, emergency medical  services and technical rescue.

The mission of Dauphin Island Fire and Rescue is to identify and respond to the community and deliver an effective and efficient system of services which minimize risk of life, health, and property from fire, trauma, acute illness and hazardous conditions.
