Owner of Ship & Shore, Ben Buerger, 84, passes away. Mr.
Ben has been a true asset and friend to our Island. He was one of the
founders of the Volunteer Fire Dept and the owner and operator of "Ship
& Shore". After Hurricane Fredric in '79 his store was destroyed. He
quickly reopened in another location providing us groceries and supplies
while the bridge was gone. Since then He and Bobbie operated the only
grocery and hardware store on the Island. All of us at Boardwalk Realty
are keeping Mr. Ben's family and friends in our prayers.
