The Beach
Dauphin Island’s beaches offer the perfect vantage point for the nightly sunset. While you can see the sunset from several beaches, we recommend heading to West End Beach for the best views. Bring a chair or blanket with you and find a spot to sit in the sand as you watch the sun sink into the Gulf.
The Water
One of the best ways to view the Dauphin Island sunset is from the water. Sign up for the Sunset Cruise with Dauphin Island Marina and sail through Mobile Bay and Mississippi Sound while soaking in the sunset views. As a bonus, the boat also drags a shrimp net and empties the catch in a touch tank for you to get an up-close look at local marine life.
If you prefer to take the boat out yourself, they also offer pontoon rentals. Cruise around the waterways on your own schedule and watch the sunset from a private boat just for you and your family.
